Minimalism Game

From the Mimimalist Guys http://www.theminimalists.com/game/donation-box

"Find a friend or family member. Someone who’s willing to get rid of some of their excess stuff. This month, each of you must get rid of one thing on the first day of the month. On the second, two things. Three items on the third. So forth, and so on. Anything can go! Clothes, furniture, electronics, tools, decorations, etc. Donate, sell, or trash. Whatever you do, each material possession must be out of your house—and out of your life—by midnight each day. It’s an easy game at first. However, it starts getting challenging by week two, when you’re both jettisoning more than a dozen items each day. Whoever can keep it going the longest wins. You both win if you can make it all month. Bonus points if you play with more than two people."

In July Albert and Carolyne both participated, and with a few extra items thrown in got rid of over 1000 items.

Family Visit

We had a nice visit from the Buijs side of the family.

Albert’s sister Rosanne and husband Joe, son Daniel, daughterinlaw Melinda, and granddaughter Katherine came for lunch on Sunday.

Christmas Dinner

Merry Christmas.

Grandma (Mom) and (Great) Aunt Eleanor visited Oakville for dinner.

We all ate too much!

Ceiling book shelves

In a smallish condo, space for books is at a premium.

After much planning, we purchased a number of Ikea shelves and Albert put them up.  The result is much better than the imaginings. They are along two walls in the master bedroom. Wall three is all windows and wall four is concrete.

Newt

We have added a new member to the family. Temporarily.

A foster cat from the Humane Society is now wandering our halls. She is very cute and small even though they think she is a year old.

No pictures, sorry. It is against policy.

But she sort of looks like this:
